Kurt Schwitters: Homage

Anything can be art. A piece of paper, an old newspaper, random sounds and a part of a sentence heard on the street, all can be a work of art. Schwitters saw in these daily items fragments of the German culture post WWI. His collage works, the poems he wrote and the sonnets he composed, were to him an attempt to put the fragments back together.

As a homage to Schwitters Dada poems, I cut up random words from a newspaper and sewed them together into a poem. The original presentation of the movie was in an endless loop. The repetitiveness of the sewing, as well as the fragile nature of newspaper material, raises a question: Is it at all possible to put back something that's broken?
